Meet gentle Chuck, a 6-year-old purebred Suffolk gelding. This is the type of horse that is built to please anyone.
Chuck was born and raised on a small produce farm. At 3 years old, he was started working in the produce fields for light work. He was used on the produce farm working double with other horses and sometimes single on the cultivator. The kids would also ride him whenever they got a chance.
Since he came to our farm last year, he has been giving buggy rides and going on a lot of trail rides. We have used him to train colts to drive because he is so steady and has a solid walk that is perfect for teaching the colts. Chuck has also been used in a nearby animal park where he was exposed to all kinds of animals. He is used to seeing different animals and gets along well.
Chuck is a very beginner-safe horse that can be ridden or driven by people of all experience levels. He is very traffic-safe and will go wherever you point him. When riding, he has a nice walk–trot–canter and also loves to go through the water. Chuck stands nice for the farrier, clips easily, and stands well to mount.
Chuck is a once-in-a-lifetime find that will suit all skill levels. If you are familiar with the Suffolk breed, you’ll know there aren’t very many around…certainly not this quiet and willing.
